Our Story : Welcome to Breathe Bangladesh!
I’m Iftekhar Rahman the founder of this initiative. Growing up in Bangladesh, I was immersed in a world of vibrant colours, rich traditions, and incredible band music of the 90’s. The thrill of attending live concert, the aroma of sizzling street food, walking in the narrow street of Old Dhaka for the mouthwatering Kacchi biryani/ Murg Pulao/Teheri, eagerly searching for the latest comic books/ Cassettes (no YouTube those days) in New market, sitting with friends in a tea stall enjoying the bursting flavour of savoury snacks with a cup of hot tea and the festive atmosphere of the annual book fair/ Baishakhi Mela were among the experiences that shaped my youth. Born and raised in Bangladesh I have spent most of my youth in my home town Moulvibazar and now living abroad, I’ve always carried a deep connection to my roots.
Through this platform, I aim to reconnect the fourth-generation British-Bangladeshi community with their ancestral homeland and invite a global audience to discover the wonders of Bangladesh. I am passionate about sharing the beauty, history, and culture of Bangladesh with the world.
As I built my life abroad, I also nurtured a dream to give back to my country in a meaningful way. I believe tourism is a powerful tool—not just for economic growth but for preserving and sharing the stories of our great nation with the world. With this vision in mind, Breathe Bangladesh was born.

When I shared the vision of Breathe Bangladesh with Mr. Hifzur Rahman Chowdhury, founder of Labbaik Ltd, he didn’t hesitate for a moment. My mentor, elder brother and a very good friend Hifzur Rahman Chowdhury, the visionary founder of Labbaik Ltd, has spent years building a reputation for bringing ideas to life. A man of action with an entrepreneurial spirit, he immediately saw the potential of this project to reconnect people with the heart and soul of Bangladesh. With a keen eye for opportunity and a shared passion for promoting Bangladesh. Together, we’re on a mission to not only grow tourism but to tell the untold stories of Bangladesh—its culture, history, food, and festivals—while empowering local communities and building a brighter future for all.

Parven's Journey: From London to Bangladesh
I’m incredibly fortunate to have Parven, my wife, by my side. Our journey together began when she first visited Bangladesh 25 years ago. Let’s just say, she got stuck with me ever since! Having travelled extensively around the world, she always finds herself drawn back to Bangladesh. Whether it’s during family gatherings or casual conversations, her passion for the country shines through, whether she’s reminiscing about the incredible flavours of Bangladeshi cuisine or the vibrant energy of the local markets. I absolutely adore how she seamlessly navigated the bustling markets of Dhaka, mastering the art of bargaining like a true local. And who can forget her fascination with the Bangladeshi weather, a stark contrast to the London climate, which she claims suits her perfectly! She’s become quite the enthusiast of Robindra Sangeet, often spending hours listening to the soulful melodies. And let’s not forget her culinary adventures!
